Staff at a Grampians residential care home swapped their uniforms for ‘crazy’ costumes in a colourful display to brighten senior residents’ day during the COVID-19 pandemic.
East Grampians Health Service’s Garden View Court hostel staff decked out the health service’s dining room with colourful tablecloths, streamers and balloons and blasted music down the corridors last week.
Garden View Court manager Maree Fraser said residents sang and danced along to music while they enjoyed the company of staff sporting their ‘whacky’ outfits.
“Many of our residents have been staying home and have not been able to go out for some time, or might not have had a lot of visitors due to COVID-19 restrictions, so we thought this was a way of brightening their day,” she said.
