Donations roll in for emergency food centre

A Horsham service club has continued giving back to its community despite challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Horsham East Rotary Club donated $750 of hygiene and personal care products to the city’s Christian Emergency Food Centre to support vulnerable families across the district. 

Club president Zane Bell said members were eager to help the community even after 2020 presented major hurdles in raising money. 

“Our Rotary club has always had strong connections with our community and we’re always looking for ways we can help out locally based groups and communities,” he said.

“This past year has been very difficult for many service clubs – we had to cancel some of our projects.”

Mr Bell said club members were planning several events such as a pop-up market and an annual art fair to run early this year.
