Former Wimmera Machinery Field Days figurehead Murray Wilson is AFL Wimmera Mallee’s new leagues manager.

AFL regional manager Jason Muldoon confirmed Mr Wilson’s appointment as part of a reset of the AFL Wimmera Mallee operational services.

Mr Muldoon said Mr Wilson joined regional football administration with a wealth of management experience.

“Murray will work alongside AFLWM operations manager Jennie French to deliver an operations service to Wimmera Football Netball League and  Horsham District Football Netball League,” he said. “AFL Wimmera Mallee was delighted with the quality of applicants from across the state who expressed an interest in the position. 

“We wish Murray a successful career with AFL Wimmera Mallee.”

Mr Wilson will start in his position from March 1.

As well as his 13 years with the field days, Mr Wilson has had management positions with Landcare Australia and was Conservation Volunteers Australia regional manager.

A Leadership Wimmera graduate, he has had many roles in community football, netball and cricket and sat on a Tourism Advisory Committee.
