Victorian Electoral Commission leaders have called for candidates for an upcoming Northern Grampians Shire Council by-election.
Nominations to stand as a candidate for Kara Kara Ward opened last week.
Election manager Clarissa Hyland encouraged anyone interested in representing their community to nominate.
“Prospective candidates should prepare to lodge their nomination in person during the nomination period,” she said.
Nomination forms must be lodged in person, together with a $250 nomination fee, with the election manager during business hours.
The election office is open on weekdays at the media centre at Stawell’s Central Park, 14-28 Main Street.
Nominations close at noon on January 19. Late nominations cannot be accepted.
Prospective candidates can call the election manager on 1300 128 940 to make a nomination appointment.

They can also pre-fill their nomination form online using the VEC’s Candidate Helper at candidatehelper.vec.vic.
Candidate information kits containing nomination forms and other electoral information will be available on request by contacting the election manager.
