Teens arrested after letterboxes damaged in the Stawell and Ararat

Northern Grampians Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested two teenagers today after letterboxes were allegedly damaged in the Stawell and Ararat areas.

It is alleged a number of letterboxes were damaged by firecrackers in the Stawell and Ararat areas between  May 26 and June 8.

Detectives executed warrants at a London Road and Cahill Road premises in Stawell about 7.30am.

Fireworks, drugs and ammunition were seized.

A 17-year-old Stawell boy has been charged with possess explosive substance, criminal damage and other related offences.

He will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

An 18-year-old Stawell man has been interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons.
