LIGHTEN THE MOOD: Horsham’s Exchange Hotel publican Nick Murray will host a comedy night at Maydale Pavillion as part of Art is... Picture: SOPHIE PARISH

Art Is... calling all ‘funny people’

A Wimmera art festival has encouraged people with a hankering for humour to get involved with a workshop dedicated to the art of comedic writing.

Art is... has put a call out to ‘funny people in the Wimmera’ or a ‘funny person who is near and dear to you’ to participate in a comedy writing workshop with professional comedians.

The free workshop, run by comedian and freelance writer Andrew Kelso and comedian and producer Jason Chong, and hosted by Horsham’s Exchange Hotel publican Nick Murray, will give people an opportunity to hone their comedic skills with other passionate, or eager, writers and comedians.

Mr Murray said he looked forward to ‘laughing out a few wrinkles’. “I am not a funny man, but you don’t have to be inherently funny to come down to the workshop and lighten the mood with everyone,” he said.
