City to River feedback released

A report detailing community responses to ideas in a Horsham Draft City to River Masterplan is now available to the public.

During a July and August engagement period, Horsham Rural City Council asked people from Horsham and the Wimmera to submit comments on the draft that presented ways to revitalise Horsham as a place to live, work, play and invest.

The request attracted 740 official submissions from stakeholders including clubs, state and regional sports associations, schools, businesses and individuals.

Horsham mayor Mark Radford said every submission had been read and recorded and made available to councillors.

“The volume of feedback received is unprecedented and we thank everybody who chose to have their say,” he said.

“While there was a wide variety of passionate opinions, the most consistent message is that people are pleased that there is planning happening.

“As a result of the suggestions and concerns raised in the community feedback, the council will facilitate further meetings with some local and state sporting clubs and government representatives.

“Then, over the coming months, councillors will decide how we respond to all the information we have gathered.”

A full engagement report and snapshot will be available online at hrcc.vic.gov.au.
