Come-and-try badminton

Horsham Badminton Association is offering free come-and-try sessions for the community over three consecutive Sundays, following consultations to maximise participation.

Badminton Victoria received funding through Sport and Recreation Victoria to promote the sport as part of a Regional Badminton Revitalisation Program.

Horsham association president Luke Dunn said the club was excited to offer the opportunity to anyone interested in trying the sport as a beginner, or as a past participant.

“Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly has conducted community consultations targeting culturally and linguistically diverse groups in Horsham, with their feedback helping to shape this program to maximise participation,” he said.

“Our hope is that we can connect these groups with the broader Horsham community through badminton and increase participation into the future.”

At Horsham College’s gymnasium on Baillie Street, there is no cost to players and snacks and refreshments will be provided.

New players who attend all three sessions – on Sunday, March 15, 22 and 29, from 3pm to 5pm – and do not already own a racket will receive one free of charge.
