A project to create possum skin cloaks for Goolum Goolum Aboriginal Co-operative events and activities is taking shape.
Project co-ordinator, Gunditjmara and Wotjobaluk artist Tanisha Lovett, said indigenous women in Horsham and Stawell were making the cloaks for use in the community.
“I like the idea of them being worn during cultural events,” she said.
Suzy Skurrie, one of about 15 women working on the cloaks, said the women were using traditional and contemporary techniques.
