A Victorian Local Governance Association will run free online Local Government 101 workshops exclusively for women during the next three months.
The association aims to have women make up at least 50 percent of new municipal councils after this year’s October elections.
The workshops are designed to answer questions potential candidates might have, including outlining the role of local government, the role of councillors and how to become a candidate and run a successful election campaign.
The Local Government 101 Sessions for Women will be on July 20, August 3 and 19.
