Forest Fire Management Victoria’s newest firefighters will undertake a rigorous and extensive training course in St Arnaud this week so they can protect communities from bushfire.

Almost 30 firefighters are taking part in the course, which covers the essential elements of firefighting including fire behaviour, fire suppression, planned burning, safety and survival techniques.

The training will be at Goldfields Reservoir from 11am.
