Home team Taekwon-Do success

Stawell’s Il Shim International Taekwon-Do hosted the One Legacy International Victorian Open Championship on Saturday, with the home team bagging 39 medals during the event.

Stawell placed third overall in the medal tally, collectively winning 11 gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze, its competitors ranging from three-year-old ‘little ninjas’ to an 82-year-old, and sixth-degree black belts.

Fresh from the world stage, Savannah and Mackenzie Farrell led the Stawell team, supported by their Australian National Taekwon-Do team, showcasing sparring, special techniques and power-breaking.

The sisters won 10 medals between them – Savannah one gold, three silver and a bronze; Mackenzie three gold, one silver and one bronze.
