Horsham to host top go-kart competition

Wimmera Kart Racing Club will host round five of the Victorian Country Series go-kart competition at the weekend.

The best go-kart drivers from country Victoria compete in the series, with about 200 drivers from as far as South Australia and Melbourne set to attend the race at Dooen.

Spectators can view a practice session on Saturday before the race on Sunday.

The club encouraged people to watch the racing and enjoy the atmosphere, with free entry and a canteen facility.

People can also talk to drivers and pit crews between races.

Wimmera Kart Racing Club is located seven kilometres from Horsham on Dooen Road next to Horsham Motorcycle Club’s motocross circuit.

Schedule–

Saturday

9am-2:30pm: Practice

10am: Canteen opens

10am-2pm: Entry confirmation

2pm: Close of entries

2:40pm: Driver briefing

3pm: Qualifying

Sunday

6am: Gates open

7am: Canteen opens including breakfast

8am: Racing 

Presentations will be made at the conclusion of racing
