Join in the Nhill shopping spree

The west Wimmera centre of Nhill will step into the regional shopping spotlight on Friday as part of an annual promotion to encourage people to support their home-town businesses.

ACE Radio Broadcasters, through The Weekly Advertiser and radio stations 3WM and MIXX FM, has again linked hands with Nhill district businesses for a We Love Nhill campaign.

Nhill represents a unique hub for a large part of an expansive agricultural sub-region and its distance from major cities underlines its importance in western Victoria.

A long-recognised service centre, it is also home to a collection of light industries and businesses that provide day-to-day shopping products and experiences as well as employment for a loyal and independent community.

We Love Nhill represents the final opportunity this year for people to make the most of the We Love campaign, which has helped stimulate business and provide shoppers with rare bargains across the region.

ACE Radio Broadcasters Horsham general manager Brendan O’Loughlin said Nhill represented a key part of the We Love campaign, which had already been a success in Horsham, Ararat, Warracknabeal and Stawell.

“We pride ourselves on our ability to bring the region together, while at the same time going into bat for individual cities and towns, their businesses and their communities,” he said. “Nhill provides a book-end to our We Love promotion, which is all about reminding people about the wonderful businesses that choose to trade in our part of the world.

“It also gives businesses a chance to seriously promote what they do and sell and that equates to all sorts of bargains and discounts from participating partners. And Nhill is where it’s all happening on Friday.”

Mr O’Loughlin said We Love Nhill in particular tended to generate a strong sense of community spirit as shoppers made the most of getting out and about.

“We love the fact that We Love Nhill has become an important date on the calendar for shoppers and businesses alike,” he said.

“We encourage everyone, even travelling shoppers getting into the habit of going from town to town to make the most of each promotion, to continue to get involved.”

Shoppers also have a chance to win $250 vouchers during the promotion.

Two vouchers, which winners can spend at any participating businesses, are up for grabs.

All shoppers have to do to enter for a chance to win a voucher is present purchase dockets from participating businesses on the day to The Weekly Advertiser, 3WM and MIXX FM team members at a MIXX FM live broadcasting area in Goldsworthy Park.

ACE team members will be at the site from 9am to 4pm and a MIXX FM live broadcast will be between 10am and 2pm.
