Mamma Mia set to go

Horsham Arts Council’s 2019 production of Mamma Mia kicks off with the first of nine performances tonight at Horsham Town Hall.

Check out the last of Mamma Mia’s cast profiles to see who else will be joining the likes of leads Lisa Thomas, Bella Patterson and Loucas Vettos on stage.

Joining Bella Patterson and Loucas Vettos, middle, on stage will be, from left, Paige Schmidt as Lisa, Liam Robertson as Pepper, Eleni Vettos as Ali and Shannon Jeffrey as Eddie – Sophie and Sky’s friends and the ‘dancing queens’ ready to ‘rock the stage’ from tomorrow night.

Paige is ‘no stranger to the stage’. Mamma Mia is her 10th Horsham Arts Council show and she also starred as an extra for the film ‘The Dressmaker’ in 2014.

The 24-year-old said she was an avid ABBA fan and felt extremely privileged to be part of one of her ‘all-time favourite musicals’.

She said she couldn’t wait to sing, dance and share the stage with her friends and, for the first time, her younger sister Lara.

Mamma Mia marks Liam’s eighth Horsham Arts Council show, after recently being involved in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ and ‘Rock of Ages’.

Liam said he was excited to perform with the many friends he’s made across the years, especially as this would be his ‘final HAC show for a while’ as he prepares to move to Melbourne to study performing arts next year.

Currently in Year 10, Liam said he spent most of his time outside of school either dancing, singing, studying or rehearsing for upcoming shows, and hoped audiences enjoyed Mamma Mia.

Eleni said she was ecstatic to return to the stage performing the role of Ali in Mamma Mia.

Eleni previously performed as Regina in ‘Rock of Ages’, and was assistant director for Horsham College’s ‘School of Rock’, enjoying both behind-the-scenes and on-stage work.

She hoped audiences enjoyed an ‘ethnic experience in Kalokairi’.

“BYO plates to smash,” she said.

While Shannon has been helping the Horsham Arts Council family with hair design since 2016, Mamma Mia will be her first on-stage role.

She said she was thrilled to be part of the show and loved the challenge of portraying her character Eddie.

She said she hoped people would enjoy the show and Eddie’s ‘bubbly and fun personality’ as much as she does.
