Mitch Creek's absence from the Australian Boomers' final-12 world cup team has sent shockwaves throughout the national basketball fraternity.
The Horsham export was missing from the 12-man team announced by Basketball Australia officials earlier today.
Many sporting commentators had considered the forward, who has spent almost 12 months forging a reputation with American NBA teams Brookyln Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves, a shoe-in for the national team.

He has signed with Australian NBL team South East Melbourne Phoenix for 2019/2020 season.
Creek rates as the marquee recruit for the Phoenix and is the most successful basketballer to emerge from the Wimmera.
