Wimmera Base Hospital Ladies Auxiliary welcomed two new leaders to its executive during its annual general meeting last month.

Committee members Gail Cramer and Maureen Lewis are the new president and senior vice-president, while former president Anne Stevens has accepted a junior vice-president role after resigning from the top position.

Gay Baker and Robyn Phillips will serve further terms as honorary secretary and treasurer.

Annie Potter is honorary assistant secretary and former treasurer Elaine Morrison will assist Ms Phillips.

Dianne Lewis will continue in her long-term role as the manager of the group’s opportunity shop, which, with its 25 volunteers, raised $110,000 in the past financial year.

Donations to Grampians Health in the financial year included a telehealth unit and a ventilator for the intensive care unit, a sagittal saw for the operating theatre, probes and washers for the midwifery team, clothing for emergency patients and a ventilator and ring cutter and eye-dust remover for the emergency department.
Grampians Health Horsham volunteers co-ordinator Kellie McMaster thanked the auxiliary members for their work and congratulated them on the success of the opportunity shop.

The auxiliary also donated to the Christian Emergency Food Centre, Royal Flying Doctor Service and Wimmera Health Care Group Foundation.

The auxiliary is in its 102nd year of supporting the hospital and is looking for more volunteers to join the committee or help out at the opportunity shop.
