The top three horses in the $30,000 feature race were all trained in Stawell, with Tre Dieci trained by Dane Smith, Patch Adams by Terry and Karina O’Sullivan and third-placed Barry the Baptist by Paul Jones.
Warrnambool trainer Matthew Williams took out a $100,000 first heat in the Melbourne Cup Carnival Country Series with four-year-old gelding Brilliant Concept, earning a place in the series final on Oaks Day.
