Horsham trainer Paul Preusker was happy with an exhibition gallop by his Melbourne Cup hopeful Surprise baby.

Surprise Baby became one of the favourites for the $8-million Melbourne Cup with a dominant performance in The Bart Cummings race over 2500 metres earlier this month.

Leading jockey Jordan Childs rode the horse with Horsham's Christine Puls offering support on Patriotic. 

The run was before the 2019 Horsham Cup won by Wetakemanhattan, ridden by Childs.
