Horsham’s under-16 and under-14 mixed competitions crowned premiers at the weekend, with Dunmunkle Renegades winning the under-16 flag by seven wickets in a high-scoring contest.

Playing against Horsham Tigers, the Renegades chose to bowl first but could not break an opening partnership of Callum Jackson and Joel Plazzer.

Jackson made 69 and Plazzer 82 as the Tigers batted out their allotted 40 overs, finishing 4-195.

The Renegades faced a tough task, but opening batsmen Hugh and Luke Weidemann were up to the challenge.

Luke was eventually removed for 60 but Hugh finished unbeaten on 62 and Jake McKenzie added 44 to bring his team within range of victory.

McKenzie fell in the 36th over but his team brought up the winning runs five balls later, finishing 3-197 in 36.5 overs.

Noradjuha-Toolondo claimed the under-14 premiership with outstanding bowling and fielding against Horsham Tigers.

The Tigers batted after winning the toss but were kept to 7-59 from their 20 overs, with only Lenny Carter, 13, reaching double figures.

The Bullants recorded two run-outs and Jack Arnel took 3-2 in three overs.

In reply Noradjuha-Toolondo looked vulnerable early, but a 33-run partnership between Angus Crute, 10 not out, and Oscar Combe, 16 not out, saw them reach 4-61 with six overs to spare.
