Probus ladies welcome Dr Grenfell special guest

Horsham East Ladies Probus Club members were treated to an informative talk by Natimuk doctor and health and biosecurity expert Rob Grenfell at their November meeting.

Club member Ann Stevens said the group was delighted to have Dr Grenfell speak.

“I’m friends with his parents and his father dobbed him in,” she said.

“We asked him a while back, but we finally got him here. The ladies loved it and we learnt a lot.”

Dr Grenfell spoke about his background and time spent at Longerenong College and how it helped shape his career.

“I’ve always been fascinated by mouse and locust plagues. Studying aphids in lucerne crops gave me a grounding in my career looking at things that shouldn’t be here and things that invade us,” he said.

“And of course, everyone’s got questions about COVID-19 as you could imagine.”
