The incident happened during a 10am practice run ahead of the third round of the annual competition, hosted by Horsham Motorcycle Club at its Dooen track.
Club secretary Kenny Watts said police who attended the scene gave the club permission to continue the event after the boy was evacuated, having identified no safety issues.
Mr Watts said about 230 riders from every Australian state except Queensland took part, bringing more than 300 motorbikes.
He said while the club’s top priority had been the health of the young rider who was airlifted, officials were grateful to be able to continue the event.
“The Vic titles have been going well as a series,” he said.
“Horsham was pleased to have them come here and give the community a little bit of a boost economically.”
Mr Watts said the standard of racing had been high across the weekend.
“We had the 250cc A, B and C Grade races on Saturday and the 125s on Sunday, so there were a large collection of winners on the weekend,” he said.
“Probably the biggest standout was young Jobe Dunne, who is from around the Broadford area. He dominated his races.”
Dunne took out the 250cc A Grade division with a perfect score of 50 points, leading second-placed Noah James on 44 and Nate Shortt on 40.
