The Weekly Advertiser has a new editorial director.
Jessica Grimble started in the role this week.

“There’s ink in my veins. This feels like coming home,” she said.
“Journalism has always been important to the Wimmera – to inform, educate and entertain readers with the news of the day and to record history for generations to come.
“The pandemic times reiterate the value and importance of local journalism – that reflects the community and offers people and groups a chance to have their voice heard.
“The Weekly Advertiser is a quality publication and I’m pleased to support its continuing legacy.”
Ms Grimble is the first female director of The Weekly Advertiser.
“I’m really keen to ensure the publication reflects the diversity of people and views of this community, building on what is already a sought-after and high-quality read,” she said.
Former editor Dean Lawson left the publication in April after 12 years.
General manager Brendan O’Loughlin welcomed Ms Grimble to the team.
“We’re pumped to have Jess join the team, with diversity of experience in print and digital over many years,” he said.
“Jess’ appointment rounds out a really strong newspaper team.
“We’re proud to be a leader of news reporting in the Wimmera – and will continue that place with Jess’ guidance and leadership.”
Ms Grimble encouraged people with news tips, letters or feedback to contact her via firstname.lastname@example.org.
