A second cased of COVID-19 has presented to Wimmera Health Care Group’s Horsham assessment clinic.
Health group medical services director John Christie confirmed both cases involved people who had travelled overseas and on return to the region had gone into self-isolation.
“These people did the right thing. They went into the 14 days of self-isolation, became unwell with the usual symptoms such as a high temperature, sore throat and general aches and pains, called the hotline and came in for an assessment to be tested,” he said.
“They listened to what they had been told to do and because they did it the right way they didn’t make themselves a danger to the community. They need to be congratulated for doing that and everyone needs to learn from their example.”
