The Dancers Zone students to perform showcase

The Dancers Zone students will ‘dance through the decades’ during an end-of-season showcase at Horsham Town Hall on Sunday.

Principal dance instructor Lynne McKenzie said dancers from pre-school age through to adults had been working hard throughout the semester to present the one-off show at 2pm.

“We have picked a few iconic songs from each decade, beginning at the 1920s, all the way through to the 2010s,” she said.

“With a range of styles including tap, jazz, lyrical and hip-hop, our dancers are ready to light up the stage, with our musical theatre groups bringing the whole show together.”

Ms McKenzie said offering a variety of class styles enabled the students to try new things while developing skills and confidence.

“It’s fantastic to see our students come out of their comfort zone and flourish on stage, including our babyballet stars, which for some is their first time performing.

“Each group will perform two routines, however with some students in multiple groups, you will see them on stage quite a few times.”

Ms McKenzie said the costume team had been pulling out all the stops.

“They have done a marvellous job, as they always do, and there might even be some props involved,” she said.

“Our teachers have also done a fantastic job – it’s no wonder our students love them.”

Tickets for the Dancing Through The Decades show are almost sold out.

People can visit www.horshamtownhall.com.au or call the town hall box office on 5382 9555 to buy tickets.
