Securing confidence-generating back-to-back wins will also be high on the agenda for both camps.
The Tigers were celebrating last week after opener Josiah Mock, batting for the first time this season, clipped a career-first century to steer his team to victory over Colts.
Mock finished unbeaten on 105 in a knock featuring 12 fours, as the Tigers made 5-230 from their allotted 40 overs.
Marty Knight, Sam Leith, Angus Adams and Tyler Puls all added important support.
Colts responded with 153, all-rounder Dylan Arnott top scoring with 45.
While the Tigers and Colts were battling it out, Horsham Saints proved too good on the day for Rupanyup-Minyip in a low-scoring encounter at Rupanyup.
The Saints made 9-186, with primary contributions from Ben Sawyer, 36, Tim Bell, 35, and Tony Caccaviello, 32, and then bowled the Blue Panthers out for 134.
Rupanyup-Minyip had a solid start with 2-71, with Mark Mbofana making 28 and Brent Hudson, 26, but the home side lost its way in the chase, falling victim to a variety of bowlers including Trent King, 4-12.
Bailey Young was the best performer for the Blue Panthers, capturing 4-54, before remaining unbeaten in his team’s middle order with 32. Rupanyup-Minyip now takes on Blackheath-Dimboola, which despite its promising start a week earlier, fell victim to player unavailability on Saturday and had to forfeit to Homers.
Association officials are confident the circumstance was only a one-off and Blackeath-Dimboola will be set for this weekend’s contest.
Winning points this weekend have suddenly become more important for the Bulls.
Winning points will also be on Colts’ wish-list with the Gallopers scheduled to play Laharum at Laharum.
Laharum will have similar thoughts, however, especially after snaring victory over Noradjuha-Toolondo last week.
The Mountain Men managed to trip up the Bullants, capturing the crucial wicket of Justtin Combe for 20 and despite the batting efforts of John Heard, 39, and David Combe, 41.
Laharum had Noradjuha-Toolondo 9-158 at the end of 40 overs and then Ben Peucker, 69, and Daniel Griffiths and Jeremy Tyler, both 45, navigated the team to 6-202.
Noradjuha-Toolondo now has the tough assignment of taking on Homers, who would be itching to get back into the action.
