Valuer Simon Storey, left, with Quantong collector Adam Harrison at a Horsham Regional Art Gallery valuation day at the weekend. Mr Storey deemed Mr Harrison’s New Guinea tribal weapons worth $1000 each. Mr Harrison bought the items from a second-hand shop for about $60 each. The items could stem back to the 1890s or as recent as the 1950s. “We don’t know the exact history, but by the look of them, they’ve been used. Those battles were all in – and dangerous,” Mr Storey said.
