The exhibition, ‘Shining a Light: Art from Conflict, Art for Peace’ at Willaura Railway Station Gallery will include special displays from Australian artist and historian Gary Serpell, as well as trench items, posters and a 1916-made quilt used to raise funds for Australia’s war efforts.
Serpell’s two art collections will headline the April Willaura display. His first collection ‘Shining a Light’, features miniature models that will tell a story of the Australian war experience at Gallipoli in the First World War, while a second, ‘Tiny Australia’ will feature a three-dimensional Melbourne landmark cityscape made from tin.
Gallery visitors can experience the collection throughout the Anzac long-weekend, from 11am to 2pm and further details are available on Willaura Modern social media.
