A pair of Wimmera cricketers have been named as captains of Western Waves cricket squads for the 2019-20 Youth Premier League season.
West Wimmera Cricket Club’s Ruby James will lead the Waves’ under-17 female team, while Homers Cricket Club’s Georgia Baker-Miller is co-captain of the under-14 squad along with Ruby Couch of Nestles Cricket Club in Warrnambool.
Grampians Cricket Club’s Ella Jackson will play in the under-14 team under Baker-Miller’s leadership.
The under-17 team will start its season with a home match against Mallee at Horsham City Oval on Sunday, December 1, while the under-14 squad kicks off its campaign against Mallee at Horsham’s Dimboola Road Oval on the same date.
