Work starts on Horsham water play park

On-ground works at Horsham Nature and Water Play Park have started.

Located at Horsham’s riverfront precinct, near the Horsham Rowing Club on Barnes Boulevard, the park will be free and accessible for all ages and capabilities, all year.

It will include a gently flowing water course, manually operated hand pumps, systems of adjustable dams and weirs, spray heads and pop jets. There are also play elements that can be used year-round without water flow including small boulders for climbing, logs for balancing, stones for jumping along and sand pits.

The on-ground works started last week.

The development is scheduled for completion at Christmas.

The council secured funding through the State Government’s Community Sports Infrastructure Stimulus Program, worth $2.1-million, and via the Federal Government’s Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program, worth $350,000.
