Drivers on the Western Highway at Nhill were forced to take evasive action after a car with stolen plates sped from the town on Monday morning.
Nhill Police are seeking any witnesses to the incident between 9.45-11.30am.
A white Hyundai SUV with stolen plates 1MH9LG has attended the BP Roadhouse on the Western Highway, Nhill and stole a quantity of fuel at 9.45am.
Police sighted the vehicle on Victoria Street, Nhill around 11am but it sped off before being seen entering roadworks on the Western Highway 3km west of Nhill.
