Yarriambiack to host cyber safety sessions

Yarriambiack Shire Council will host one of Australia’s foremost experts in cyber safety and young people next week.

Susan McLean will run education sessions at schools in the shire starting in Hopetoun on Monday.

Council youth impact officer Justin Knorpp said Ms McLean would also deliver a community session at Warracknabeal Community Centre on Tuesday.

“Susan’s unparalleled knowledge leaves audiences shocked at the reality of what exists in the online world,” he said.

“It’s a wake-up call to even the most switched-on parents. The community and parent session will cover the positive benefits of technology as well as what parents need to be aware of.”

The community cyber education session at Warracknabeal starts at 7pm.
